It’s been exactly four years since the Blue Crescent Hotel was announced for Niverville and two years since the sod-turning ceremony took place. But all these years later, the only evidence that it’s still coming is a fading sign in front of the vacant property along Old Drovers Run.

At just 17 years of age, Edlynne (Eddy) Paez of Niverville isn’t your typical teenager. This was recently recognized by the Loran Scholars Foundation when Paez, a local Grade 12 student, was honoured with the prestigious Loran Award.

Frequently during election campaigns, at least in Provencher, there seems to be some level of vigilantism on display from members of the general public. One can only speculate on their motives.

For Noel Gautron of Ritchot, the 2025 election will mark his third time running for the People’s Party of Canada (PPC). Gautron is a small business owner, logistics professional, and family man.

The Green Party of Canada is being represented in Provencher this election by Blair Mahaffy, who lived for many years with is family in Lorette. He now makes his home in West Hawk Lake. He’s both a software developer and riding guide at the Falcon Beach horse stables.

Just three months into the new year, Ritchot’s council gave third and final reading to their 2025 financial plan, effectively giving it life.

Challenging in Provencher for the third time is Trevor Kirczenow, running for the Liberals. He holds a degree in political science and is an accomplished violinist and author. He lives with his family near Dugald.

Without question, residents of St. Adolphe, not to mention the daily commuters who travel through the town, anxiously await a planned rehabilitation project for the town’s Main Street.

The name Ted Falk is nothing new to local voters. Falk has represented Provencher for the past 12 years. The full-time politician lives in Steinbach with his wife Irene, and at almost 65 years of age he says he’s not ready to retire from politics just yet.

The mainstage at this year’s Niverville Olde Tyme Country Fair is going to be bigger and better than ever, with a constellation of country music stars touching down to put on a show that won’t soon be forgotten.
