The Niverville Nighthawks completed a perfect preliminary round at the Centennial Cup on Wednesday night, surviving a wild back-and-forth battle against the Rockland Nationals with a 7–6 victory in Summerside, PEI.

From May 1–8, four Niverville restaurants battled it out for ultimate pizza dough-mination. After putting it to public vote, two contenders rose to the top.

On May 5, RCMP announced the successful apprehension of an Ohio man accused of online luring of a ten-year-old Manitoba girl. Thirty-two-year old Courtney Arden Wise III has been charged with sexual exploitation of children, receipt of visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of child pornography.

The Niverville Nighthawks’ perfect start continued Saturday afternoon at the Centennial Cup. After opening the tournament with a thrilling 5–4 overtime victory on Thursday night, the Nighthawks returned to the ice Saturday afternoon looking for their second straight win, this time against the Thunder Bay North Stars.
