The annual Scare with the Mayor is planned for 6:00–9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31 at the TC Energy Centre in Île-des-Chênes. Everyone is invited to attend this free, family-friendly event where there will be candy, popcorn, and Halloween-themed activities, including the opportunity to “scare” Ritchot mayor Chris Ewen.

Robert Stermscheg of Niverville has just released a new novel, although it’s far from his first. Over the last 15 years, this local author has published a half-dozen books, of different types and genres. But they all have something important in common: a deeply personal connection to his own life.

A local author and illustrator have collaborated on a new children’s book that bring to life the biblical story of Jonah being swallowed by a whale and living to tell the tale.

For many residents of the rural southeast, the wait for tangible proof of Niverville’s promised movie studio may have seemed interminable. However, the project is still very much going forward, even though there is little evidence on the ground—so far.

The RM of Ritchot’s recreation team has been hard at work this summer dreaming up creative ways to enhance community well-being by keeping residents active and engaged. Their newest initiative includes a series of concerts they call Homegrown Harmonies.

On June 7, former Niverville resident K.R. Byggdin, who currently resides in Halifax, was awarded the Thomas Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award for their debut novel, Wonder World.
