Nighthawks on Brink of History Following 6–3 Victory

The Niverville Nighthawks moved to the brink of history on Tuesday night at the CRRC, taking a 3–0 series lead in the McMunn & Yates Turnbull Cup Finals after a high-scoring, fast-paced 6–3 victory over the Virden Oil Capitals in Game 3. The win leaves them just one shy of capturing their first Turnbull Cup title.

Niverville Club Crowns New Curling Champions

The Niverville Club’s season got cut short by unseasonably warm weather, forcing curlers to head out of town for post-season play. Most of the playoffs occurred in February at the Otterburne Curling Club. The final was played on March 15 in St. Adolphe.

Skaters Raise Cash for Multiplex, Skating Club

The Niverville Skating Club had a great skate-a-thon in February, with 20 skaters raising $1,174 during the two-hour event. This means that $587 each will go to the Niverville Skating Club and the future multiplex. Skaters had fun on the ice sporting their superhero costumes.

Warm Weather Can’t Spoil Winter Classic

On Saturday, February 18, Ste. Agathe held their second annual Winter Classic. About 400 people showed up in the afternoon for a day of playing hockey, making maple syrup on a stick, roasting wieners and smores, and enjoying sleigh rides. The Ste. Agathe school and local daycare got involved by providing treats and planning children’s activities throughout the day.
