With summer finally on our doorstep, the announcement of new greenspace funding is indeed a timely one. Thanks to the Building Sustainable Communities grant, an initiative of the provincial government, an approximate $55,000 in funding will be allocated toward two Niverville parks: Opa’s Park and the brand-new Niverville CPR Well Historical Park.

As the Niverville Nighthawks continue to gear up for their inaugural season, their board of directors is excited to announce that members of the public will soon be able to own a piece of the team.

MLA Ron Schuler joined the mayor, councillors, town staff, and community volunteers at the Community Recreation and Resource Centre (CRRC) on Tuesday, May 3 to make some big announcements—not the least of which is the welcome promise of a $259,032 grant earmarked for an expansion to event seating at the new arena.

This past month, the Niverville Nighthawks hired a homegrown player development coach to join their growing staff. On April 20, the club announced that Kayden Jarvis of Winnipeg has come aboard.

Inconsistency continues to be the theme for the Winnipeg Jets this season after they dropped a pair of back-to-back games and leave Florida having been outscored 13–5. These games, and all of Winnipeg’s remaining games, were once labelled as must-wins if they were to have any chance of squeaking into the playoffs.

Niverville’s own David Richert has won the Drexler Automotive Formula 3 race at the Hungaroring, a 4.381-kilometre motorsport racetrack near Budapest, Hungary.
