Niverville Collegiate is tackling a brand new sport this spring, launching its first rugby team—and none of it would have happened without one student’s passion.

During the regular season, many around the hockey community thought that a matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators would likely determine the winner of the NHL’s Western Conference. Unfortunately, due to the current playoff format, those two teams have been forced to face off against each other in the second round, as opposed to the Western Conference finals.

Old Drovers Run in Niverville is about to swing into action for another season. The nine-hole links-style course is scheduled to open May 4.  

The Niverville Rush soccer team is set to begin their second year of play in the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association (WYSA). The U15 team had great success in their first season, reaching the semifinals after achieving a regular season record of eight wins, two losses, and two ties, good enough for a fourth place finish of 14 teams.

Émilie is in Grade 10 at École/Collège Gabrielle-Roy. Émilie is in her ninth year of dance and is a senior dancer in the competitive program at Prairie Soul Dance Company. 

The Winnipeg Jets are heading back to the NHL playoffs, and they’re doing so in incredible fashion. From Patrik Laine putting up a 15-game point streak (the longest point streak by any teenager in NHL history) to the Jets setting a new franchise record for wins in a single season (49 and counting), the month of March was full of positive storylines.
