Niverville Community Resource Centre Ready to Break Ground

April 12, 2019 will go down as a monumental day in Niverville’s history. On this day, ministers and leaders from all levels of government made an appearance at the Niverville Arena in order to make formal announcements regarding their investment to the people of the community and the surrounding area.

NCI Student Remanded into Custody After School Threat

On the afternoon of April 8, RCMP officers were dispatched to Niverville Collegiate for the second time in just over a year due to social media threats made against the school. The Hanover School Division (HSD) was quick to respond by notifying the RCMP and immediately putting the school under a hold-and-secure protocol.

2019 Flood Forecast Downgraded

Due to favourable weather conditions over the past few weeks, this year’s spring flooding forecast along the Red River has been downgraded. Last month, the flood looked likely to match the flood of 2009, which had been the most severe since 1997. However, new information from the Manitoba Hydrologic Forecast Centre is indicating a crest two to three feet lower than the lesser flood of 2011.

Suspect in Custody After Niverville Collegiate Lockdown

Niverville Collegiate was on lockdown for a period of time Monday afternoon after a social media threat. According to the RCMP, a suspect is in custody. This suspect was apprehended within a very short time of the threat being made.
