Singer-Songwriter Wins Nashville Competition

Jordan St. Cyr recently returned to southern Manitoba from a Nashville trip, but he didn’t come back empty-handed. This month, St. Cyr was crowned the winner of Nashville Rising Star. This was the ninth competition of its kind and has seen other well-known names rise to the top, like Colton Dixon and Kelsey Ballerini.

Fitville: Teeing Off for Ladies League

It was a beautiful evening in June as I set out with my husband’s golf clubs and headed into the lobby of Old Drovers Run in Niverville. I was invited out by an acquaintance who didn’t have a partner that evening for Ladies League, so it worked out perfectly!

The Niverville Nighthawks returned from a week-long break with no signs of rust as they defeated the Waywayseecappo Wolverines by a 3–1 score on Sunday evening.

Jack will be going into Grade Six this September at Niverville Collegiate. He enjoys being involved in track and field as well as playing hockey and baseball. This year, he joined the Junior Golf program at Old Drovers Run.

The little white church at the corner of First Street North and Second Avenue in Niverville is a landmark. In fact, it was the first church built in Niverville, dating back to 1907. It became the Niverville United Church in 1925 and is now well-known in recent years for its Prayer Shawl Ministry.

On Saturday, June 24, the Friends of the Plex will be holding a Touch-a-Truck event at the Niverville Arena, in support of the community’s multiplex project. This event, which has been in the works for seven months, will provide a day of food and fun experiences for the whole family.
