On February 25, Niverville Mayor Myron Dyck, standing alongside representatives from the Province of Manitoba, Sport Manitoba, and Manitoba Hydro, announced that the town will host the 2022 Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games. The big announcement took place at Niverville High School.

Local Author Sarah Brandt Launches First Book

On March 15, Sarah Brandt of Niverville will be launching her first book, Blossom like Eden. Brandt entered her non-fiction manuscript last year in a women’s publishing contest hosted on by Winnipeg-based Christian publisher Word Alive Press. Her title was short-listed and she started the publishing process shortly after.

In a move to implement a healthcare model unique to Manitoba, the Town of Niverville will assume ownership of Open Health Niverville effective March 2. Open Health is the community’s primary health clinic and has been owned and operated by Drs. Chris and Mairi Burnett for 15 years.

A man from Niverville is primed to launch a fundraiser to help the victims of Fine Haus Builders, a disgraced home construction company whose customers are dubbing them a scam. The company abruptly shut down operations this fall, leaving many homebuyers and tradespeople out thousands of dollars.

On Saturday, March 30, the CRRC in Niverville will host an Accessible Sport Expo. The event is put together by Accessible Sport Connections (ASC), a non-profit that works to provide those with disabilities opportunities to participate in sports and recreational activities that are adapted to their needs.
