Trio of Gab-Roy Teams All Take Second Place at Provincials

Gabrielle-Roy in Île-des-Chênes had an especially productive volleyball season, with three of its Les Roys teams winning their divisions and heading to provincials. From there, each time was a force to be reckoned with, dominating the competition through the round robin and making it all the way to the finals.

Niverville Middle School recently won a scholarship which could help pay for a new learning tool. Students and staff applied to the All About Me School Scholarship, a product of myBlueprint, a Canadian website that provides learning programs to secondary students.

Niverville Rec Director Wins Prestigious Award

In early March, Chantel Todd, recreation director for the town of Niverville, was honoured with the Prairie Crocus Award, the most prestigious award given by Recreation Manitoba. The award is given to those who have made significant contributions to recreation and leisure services.

It would seem we have entered a season in the development of our civilization, or at least our democracy, where the default method of raising awareness is to rally crowds. From climate change to indigenous rights, the production of signs and the gathering of people to hold them rivals what we saw during the 1960s. The messages are clear, concise, and well supported by the backbone of social media.
