Preparations are underway for the annual town-wide spring garage sale in the Town of Niverville. For one weekend every spring, residents are invited to host sales in their garages and driveways. It’s a great opportunity to declutter and allow your possessions to find new homes and be diverted away from landfills.

Starting today, April 1, Niverville Service to Seniors is partnering with Bistro 290 to provide low-cost meals for seniors, Monday through Friday. Meals will cost $7 for a healthy, freshly prepared hot lunch delivered to Niverville’s many senior residents by local volunteers.

The RM of Ritchot has introduced some new lawn-watering restrictions that will be in effect throughout the summer. These measures will be place from May 31 until September 30.

The rural southeast was rattled on Thursday, March 25 when the RCMP were called to investigate a disturbance along River Road near Lorette. The call, alerting authorities about a break-and-enter in progress, came in at 1:15 a.m.

Although discussions took place last week about the possibility of bringing Manitoba down from code red, Premier Brian Pallister announced on Tuesday, March 23 that the province will hold steady for at least three more weeks.
