A few highly visible beautification projects are taking shape around Niverville this summer: the Heritage Wall on Main Street, the Niverville Heritage Pavilion, a community mural at the post office, and more trees for residential streets. These projects are all being overseen by the Niverville Communities in Bloom (NCIB) committee.

The Province of Manitoba is about to undertake an extensive round of highways repairs, spending $150 million to resurface more than 240 kilometres of roadway. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon.

Sales may be down for some retailers during these muggy summer days, but the Community General Store nonetheless had a big opening week. The store’s proprietor, Noella Andres, says traffic through her new Niverville store has been constant since she opened the doors on June 26.

Commuters, take note: on Monday, June 29, the Province of Manitoba announced the construction of an interchange at the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and the South Perimeter Highway.

Summer is here, the sun is out, and in some ways the disastrous spring of 2020 is behind us. Collectively, we’ve released another crop of graduates out into the world. And due to the gradual lifting of restrictions here in Manitoba, many aspects of life are returning to normal.

The first-ever graduating class of Niverville High School walked the stage—well, the parking lot—to collect their diplomas at a unique convocation ceremony on the evening of Wednesday, June 24. To accommodate social distancing, the 52 grads and their families pulled into the school’s parking lot in an assortment of cars, vans, and open-top convertibles to enjoy the ceremony drive-in-style.
