On Tuesday afternoon, a message went out from Randy Dueck, Superintendent of the Hanover School Division, to parents and guardians.

On Friday, parents with children attending school in the Hanover School Division (HSD) received official notice that the division would be implementing precautionary measures to help mitigate the potential spread of Covid-19 within their schools.

The Province of Manitoba has announced that all schools will suspend classes beginning Monday, March 23—and students will stay home at least until Monday, April 13. This represents a loss of two weeks, since spring break already falls during this period.

In less than a month, Twenty Twenty Tattoo Studio is set to open in Niverville—by April 1, after Niverville’s town council approved their conditional use application in mid-February.

The Hanover School Division has passed its budget for the upcoming school year. The division expects enrollment to increase by 2.5 percent in September, which equals approximately 204 new students.

Niverville’s council met on the morning of March 3 to discuss a variety of items on the town’s agenda. Councillor Chris Wiebe was absent.
