On Sunday, September 8, residents of Niverville poured into Hespeler Park to mark the fiftieth anniversary since the town’s incorporation back in 1969. The day drew a large crowd that is estimated to have been about 1,500 people, and no doubt the warm weather and sunshine contributed to the event’s success. 

Niverville High School is entering its second week of classes and students and staff are settling into new routines. But what about the rest of the community? Many people around town have been looking at the impressive new building and wondering when they’ll have an opportunity to explore inside.

Adrien Dumesnil is a third generation Ste. Agathe resident who has never longed to live anywhere other than his beloved hometown. At 86 years of age, he enjoys his suite at the Chalet Ste. Agathe seniors residence where he receives regular visits and phone calls from his five daughters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The beginning of a new school year is upon us, and with that comes the first day of classes at the new Niverville High School, which will open its doors to more than 300 students on Wednesday, September 4.

Garrett Hawgood may be a political newcomer, but if life experience and passion have a say he could become a force to be reckoned with.
