Although the province made it clear a month ago that Niverville was a high priority for a new high school, the official announcement came on June 16 when the Honourable Ian Wishart, Manitoba’s Education and Training Minister, issued a request for proposals from architectural firms, with architects to be interviewed by the end of June. Local News Jul 05, 2017 Niverville Council Plans for New Water Pipeline Niverville’s town council has a plan to deal with the shortfall of water from its Spruce Drive water treatment plant. As previously reported, a new wellfield has been identified in the RM of Hanover, to the east of Highway 59, and a pipeline will have to be constructed to connect that well to Niverville’s water system. Douglas Richardson, executive director of the Association of American Geographers, says that geographic knowledge is essential for survival in our rapidly globalizing world. Local News Jun 01, 2017 Fundraiser for Wild Animals was a Hoot On April 30, Wildlife Haven in Île-des-Chênes hosted a fundraiser at the TransCanada Centre, packing the building from noon until 4:00 p.m. Every 30 minutes, a bus drove visitors to the site of Wildlife Haven’s new animal hospital wing. The hospital will not be open to the public once the facility begins operations, so this represented many people’s first and last chance to see it.
