What do you do when you have so many pizzerias in one community? You send them into battle. For the second year running, Niverville’s Pizza Wars week, which ran from May 1 to 8, was a big hit. And by the weekend, two winners were declared.

Just weeks into the spring season and fire bans are already underway. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, Level 1 fire and travel restrictions are in effect according to the Manitoba Wildlife Service (MWS).

Staff Sargeant Ron Poirier from the St. Pierre RCMP detachment joined Ritchot’s council virtually for their May 6 meeting to provide a lengthy report on crime stats for the first quarter of 2025.

Niverville council’s May 6 public meeting began with a request for a conditional use permit by Rural Connections Manitoba Ltd, a high-speed fibre optics internet provider.

The Niverville Foundation hosted their annual AGM on May 1 at the Friendship Centre in Niverville. New this year was the addition of an art exhibit showcasing paintings by emerging and experienced local artists. 

After its inaugural year proved to be such a resounding success, Pizza Wars has returned to Niverville for another round. From May 1 to May 8, restaurants around the community are facing off to provide their cheesiest, most original and unique versions of everybody’s favourite pie.
