On a night dedicated to honouring the past, the Niverville Nighthawks put on a dominant performance for the present, rolling past the Winkler Flyers 8–2 on Saturday night at the CRRC.

Two of the MJHL’s top teams collided Wednesday night in Niverville, and the Portage Terriers came out on top, earning a 3–2 victory and handing the Nighthawks just their second regulation loss of the season.

The Niverville Nighthawks continued their red-hot play on Tuesday night, erupting for six unanswered goals in a commanding 6–1 road win over the Selkirk Steelers.

Earlier this week, the Nighthawks took over the #1 spot in the Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings as the top junior team in the nation. And on Tuesday night, they continued to show why they deserved to be there.

The top two teams in the MJHL went head-to-head Friday night at the Southeast Events Centre, and the matchup lived up to the hype.

The Niverville Nighthawks entered the contest riding a remarkable 16-game winning streak and boasting a 22–1–0 record, while the hometown Steinbach Pistons—winners of five of their previous six—were eager to put a stop to it in front of a their home crowd.

The Niverville Nighthawks kept their dominant season rolling Tuesday night, erupting for five unanswered goals en route to a commanding 6–1 victory over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. The win extends Niverville’s remarkable winning streak to 16 games and lifts them to an astounding 22–1–0 record. The Nighthawks are also unbeaten on the road.

Niverville is one of three lucky communities selected as finalists to compete in the 2025 Jets Town Takeover competition. Other contestants include Gimli and Oakbank. The winner among these three communities will enjoy a full day of Jets-inspired events on March 19, 2026.
