For the third time, the Niverville Nighthawks cut a grand prize cheque to a lucky Chase the Ace winner.

The Niverville Nighthawks used a third-period scoring surge to pull away from the Winnipeg Monarchs in an 8–4 victory, extending their winning streak to 15 games and improving to 39–2–1 on the season.

For the second time in eight days, the Niverville Nighthawks travelled to Dauphin to face the Kings—and for the second time, the Nighthawks came out with a win.

If the first two meetings of the season were any indication, Tuesday night’s third showdown between the Niverville Nighthawks and Portage Terriers was destined to be tight. Through the first 50 minutes, it lived up to the billing.

The Niverville Nighthawks continued their torrid run on Saturday night, coming from behind to defeat the Dauphin Kings 4–2 at Credit Union Place and extend their winning streak to 11 games.

Manitoba’s junior speedskating competitors shone once again at the annual Canadian Long Track Championships in Quebec City from January 8–10. All five youth members of the local Eastman Speed Skating Club ranked high enough to qualify and represent Manitoba—and between them, they brought home an impressive number of medals.
