The top two teams in the MJHL squared off Tuesday afternoon in Niverville. And when the final buzzer sounded, it was the Nighthawks who emerged victorious—again.

It was déjà vu at the CRRC on Sunday afternoon, as the Niverville Nighthawks earned their third consecutive 2–1 victory, and tenth straight overall, this time defeating the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

The Niverville Nighthawks have won a remarkable nine games in a row following a win over the visiting Winkler Flyers at the CRRC.

Both teams entered the matchup with momentum on their side, with Winkler having won four of their last five contests. The Flyers, however, hadn’t played since October 26.

The Niverville Nighthawks proved once again why they sit atop the Manitoba Junior Hockey League standings, edging the Dauphin Kings 2–1 on Sunday afternoon at the CRRC in front of nearly 600 boisterous fans.

After a successful pair of road games in which Niverville delivered big wins over division rivals Steinbach and Selkirk, the Nighthawks returned home to the CRRC on Saturday night with the goal of keeping their momentum rolling. And that’s exactly what happened, with a 6–2 win over the Northern Manitoba Blizzard. The victory marked the Nighthawks’ seventh straight win.

The Niverville Nighthawks continued their impressive run, handing the Selkirk Steelers a 4–1 loss in a marquee matchup between the top two teams in the MJHL’s East Division. The Nighthawks extended their winning streak to six games and moved within a single point of first place in the standings.
